Privacy notice
Effective 6 August 2026
This notice explains what Gurujada collects, why we use it, who can see it, and how to ask for a copy or deletion. Questions can be sent to hello@gurujada.com.
Information we collect
- Account and profile details such as name, email address, bio, profile image, and sign-in security records.
- Workbook material, organization and class memberships, learner submissions, progress, feedback, conversations, and sharing choices.
- Files and source material you upload or ask Gurujada to import, together with the resulting private drafts and published resources.
- Operational records needed for security, reliability, email delivery, audit trails, and diagnosing failed jobs.
How we use information
We use this information to provide accounts and Workbooks, show the right learning path, preserve work and revisions, support teacher review and collaboration, deliver requested email, secure the service, and improve product reliability. We do not sell personal information or use it for behavioural advertising.
Teachers, organizations, and sharing
Workbook teachers and authorized organization staff can see the learner work and progress needed to teach, review, and operate their class. Other learners see work only where the product says it will be shared—for example, a class conversation or an explicit study-partner share. Public Workbooks and public previews can be viewed without joining; submissions and private drafts are not public by default.
AI-assisted features
When you deliberately use an AI-assisted feature, Gurujada may send the prompt and the minimum relevant Workbook context to the configured AI provider to produce that feature's result. Drafts remain reviewable, and AI output can be incomplete or wrong. Do not submit material you are not allowed to share with that provider.
Google and YouTube data
Connecting YouTube is optional. With your Google permission, Gurujada reads the identity of the channel you manage, its uploads, available caption tracks, and only the caption file you select for authoring. Gurujada cannot publish to YouTube through this workflow.
OAuth access and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest. Google user data is used only to provide the visible channel-import and private-draft authoring features; it is not sold, used for advertising, or transferred for an unrelated purpose. Disconnecting asks Google to revoke the grant and deletes the local channel connection. Material already imported into a Workbook remains authored Workbook content until you remove it or make a data request.
Gurujada's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Service providers and storage
Gurujada uses service providers for application hosting, private object storage and backups, transactional email, and—when enabled—AI generation. They process information to provide those services under their own security and contractual controls. Information may be processed outside your state or country where those providers operate.
Cookies and security
Gurujada uses essential session and security cookies to keep you signed in and protect requests. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies. We use access controls, encrypted transport, hashed passwords, encrypted YouTube tokens, backups, and audit records, but no online service can promise absolute security.
Retention, exports, and deletion
We retain account and learning records while they are needed to provide the service, preserve a class or Workbook's legitimate history, meet security and legal needs, or resolve disputes. Backup copies expire through operational retention schedules rather than disappearing immediately.
A signed-in person can request an account export or deletion review from Account settings, or email us. We verify requests before acting. Deletion is not an instant cascade: organization ownership, another person's learning record, fraud prevention, legal duties, and shared classroom history may require transfer, de-identification, restriction, or limited retention instead.
Learners under 18
A learner under 18 should use Gurujada only through an authorized teacher or organization and with parent or guardian permission where required. Teachers and organizations must not add a child or upload a child's information unless they have authority to do so. Contact us before a broad under-18 rollout so the consent and class setup can be reviewed.
Changes and contact
We may update this notice when the product or applicable requirements change. We will change the effective date and provide a prominent notice when a change materially affects how information is used. Contact hello@gurujada.com for privacy questions or unresolved requests.
